Fontnotes

The terms Upper Case and Lower Case come from the old days of typography, when typesetters kept their individual character dies in the "upper case" (or upper drawer) for the capital/majescule letters and in the "lower case" (lower drawer) for the small/miniscule letters.  This practice is believed to date back to the days of Johannes Gutenberg.
